I have to admit that this was a test shot, I was trying to check if my sensor has dust on it… Forgot that I was using a fisheye =)

Al Hamra Fort in Ras Al Khaimah is really a good place to chill.  The place is rather old compare to the new beach resorts in RAK, but I guess it has its own charms…

Gear: Canon 7D + Sigma 10mm f2.8
Settings: f4.5 | 1/25 | ISO 100

Post process:

  • DRI from 3 exposures
  • Dodging and burning
  • Applied curves settings to adjust contrast

Cheers!

Taken during sunset at Al Hamra Fort.  It’s getting harder and harder to shoot recently.  Everytime I take the camera out, it fogs really quickly and not only its going to ruin your shot, but also the camera and lens as well.  But, what can I do, I can’t stop humidity and wait till the sunset is over :(   Anyway, just sharing.

Gear: Canon 7D + Sigma 10mm f2.8
Settings: f8.0 | 1/25 | ISO 100

Post process:

  • Digital blending using 3 exposures (DRI)
  • Dodging and burning
  • Used curves

Time go hit the bed!

The beach is one of the places you can easily reach to relax.  However as of the moment here in Dubai, the weather is darn too hot!

Gear: Canon 7D + Sigma 10mm f2.8
Settings: f8.0 | 1/25 | ISO 100

Post process:

  • 3 exposures using DRI
  • Dodging and burning
  • Added vignette

Hope everyone’s well!

24 April 2010 Fisheye,HDR,The 365 Project

This is one of the newest mall around… Mirdif City Center.  Taken a few hours ago.  I kind of like this mall, because there’s a lot of photography related stores and its less than 10 minutes drive from my place :)

Haven’t done an HDR image in a while, and I thought this particular image will work better in HDR.

Gear:  Canon 7D + Sigma 10mm f2.8
Settings: f7.1 |1/80 | ISO 100 (+-2EV AEB)

Post process:

  • Aligned and merged to HDR using Photoshop CS4
  • Tonemapped in Photomatix
  • Adjusted further in Photoshop
  • Adjusted Hue & Saturation selectively
  • Applied sharpening
  • Dodging and burning

Take care everyone :)

23 April 2010 Fisheye,The 365 Project

Taken at Dubai Marina at Sunset.  This was taken using a fisheye lens, the good thing about the fisheye is that you can get a straight horizon if you wanted to, it’s all about how you angle that lens.  I never thought I’ll use my fisheye this frequent, since a lot of people says you will only going to use it rarely, I beg to disagree;  Fisheye lens always stays in my carry around bag.

Gear: Canon 7D + Sigma 10mm f2.8
Settings: f2.8 |1/20 |ISO320

Post processing:

  • Enhanced the sky to get a more dramatic sunset look
  • Dodging and burning
  • Applied sharpening
  • Curves adjustments

Have a nice weekend!

Today, I purchased a yacht!  It’s the one on the right, the one with “DP 2735″!  Isn’t she wonderful?

All I can say is that…

…Yeah right!  Happy April fools day everyone!

Gear:  Canon 7D + Sigma 10mm f2.8
Settings: f5.0 | 1/15 | ISO 320

Post processing:

  • Dodged and burned
  • Applied different curves settings on different areas
  • Blended another brighter exposure to get some details on the foreground (DRI)
  • Applied some noise reduction

Have a nice day!

I have been eying this phone for quite some time now, I just couldn’t think of a good angle to shoot.  I saw this angle while picking up something from the floor on my way to the parking.  I thought I’ll give it a click… and so I did and that’s what it looks and my fisheye gave it a twist :)

Gear: Canon 7D + Sigma 10mm f2.8
Settings: f4.5 | 1/60 | ISO 100

Post processing:

  • Manually blended 3 exposures using digital blending (DRI)
  • Dodged and burned
  • Applied different curves settings on different areas
  • Applied a light vignette

See you! Gotta go now…

/Mike
